2025年英国皇家生物学会摄影大赛日前揭晓。今年共收到超过1300份参赛作品，比去年增加了24%。最终有10幅作品入围，并评选出两名获奖者：一名为18岁以上组，一名为18岁以下组。
本次大赛的年度摄影师由奥地利摄影师Matthias Rueger的作品《The jellyfish lake》获得，他将得到1000英镑的现金奖励；获得年度青年摄影师的是摄影师Alexander Carson的《Home under the sea》，同时他将得到500英镑的现金奖励。
除此之外，本次大赛的十名入围者还包括：Huw Griffiths的《Humpback chin》、Jack Allman的《Taking flight》、Vittorio Ricci的《Thirsty pack》、Janek Paeßens的《Urban little owl》、Elana Garrett的《Taking over the building》、Will Baxter的《The stare》、Kya Ko的《Whispers between two gannets》、Sam Morris的《Guardian of the restored lands》。
该赛事由英国皇家生物学学会(Royal Society of Biology，RSB)举办，是全球知名的生命科学专业组织，致力于推动生物科学教育、研究和应用。大赛每年一届，是国际上知名度非常高的自然类专项大赛。今年的比赛主题是恢复生物多样性和栖息地。

拉贾安帕特群岛一个咸水湖中聚集着许多水母。马蒂亚斯表示，这张照片突显了生物多样性和栖息地恢复的成效：在地方政府实施严格的水域保护措施，以应对污染和旅游业带来的负面影响后，水母数量显著增加。一些咸水湖与海洋物理隔离，为水母提供了一个独特的、受保护的、生物多样性丰富的栖息地，使它们能够在没有天敌的情况下生存。
